Geofencing is used to ensure timesheet integrity and prevent unauthorized time tracking outside designated work areas. When enabled, geofencing creates virtual boundaries around your work locations. The system verifies an employee's physical location before allowing time tracking actions. Organization administrators can set specific radius boundaries for each location, typically ranging from 50 to 500 meters (or 150 to 1500 feet) from the workplace center point.
Administrators can choose which actions require location verification. Common restrictions include clock-in and clock-out actions, while break management might be allowed from any location. When employees attempt restricted actions outside the geofence, they receive clear notifications explaining why the action cannot be completed.
Configuring geofence boundaries for multiple work locations
When implementing mobile geofencing, your platform should collect the data and pass the most up-to-date location to the relevant Easyteam component. If you'd like Easyteam's mobile SDK to collect location data, please ask your account manager for guidance.
